Cub Scout Day Camp Coordinator
Qualifications
If residing in this country but not a citizen of the United
States, agrees to abide by the Scout Oath and Law, to
respect and obey the laws of the United States of America, and
to subscribe to the BSA statement of religious
principle. Is at least 21 years of age, is of good moral
character, and is interested in working with and for boys.
Should be able to delegate responsibilities and set a good
example through behavior and attitude. Should
believe in the values and purposes of Cub Scouting. Selected
and appointed by the pack committee with the
approval of the chartered organization, and registered as an
adult leader of the BSA.
Responsibilities
- Organize the annual Cub Scout Day Camp Signup.
- Organize the carpooling
- Submit Tour Permit to Council Office
- Make sure that each driver of a carpool has a current
drivers license and adequate auto insurance
- Make sure that the we maintain the 1 adult to 4 Cub
Scout ratio at camp.

Suggestions:
Track the boy's information. Create a spreadsheet with
the following columns:
- Boy's Name
- Paid (The amount paid)
- Paid Date (The date the registration fee was paid)
- Rank by First Day of Camp (Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos
1, Webelos 2)
- Camp Name (i.e. Elk's Refuge)
- Camp Dates (i.e. 6/1 - 6/4)
- Registration Deadline (i.e. 5/22)
- Registration Turned in (i.e. 5/2)
- Receipt Returned to Parent (i.e. 5/3)
- Carpool (Whether they intend to carpool or not)
- Camp Den (The Camp Den Number)
- Check-In By (The name of the adult checking in the
scout)
- Check-Out By (The name of the audlt checking out the
scout)
Create a spreadsheet to organize the Driving Schedule:
- Date
- Driver's Name
- Available Passenger Seats (cannot transport Scouts in
the front seat if there is an airbag)
- Check-in
- Check-out
Create a spreadsheet to organize the Driver's
Information:
- Adult Name
- Car Year (i.e. 2005)
- Car Make (i.e. Honda)
- Car Model (i.e. Accord)
- Driver's License State
- Driver's License Number
- Liability Bodily Injury Each Person (i.e. $50,000)
- Liability Bodily Injure Each Accident (i.e.
$100,000)
- Liability Property Damage Each Accident (i.e.
$50,000)
- Sufficient Insurance Coverage ('Y', 'N' - check the
state laws for minimum requirements)
- Number of Total Seats (i.e. 5)
- Number of Extra Seats (i.e. 3)
Carpool Location: At the Smith's grocery store parking lot
at the intersection of Tramway and Central
Carpool Organization:
Any adult transporting cub scouts must have the
following:
- Valid Driver's License (Need the Driver's License # and
state)
- Current, properly funded insurance (Need the coverage
limits of the policy)
Permission Slips: A permission slip must be issued which
covers the following. Sometimes a single adult is doing
all three activities and sometimes not. The permission
slip needs to be turned into the Daycamp Coordinator and remain
in his/her possession.
- Transporting Scouts
- Checking In Scouts
- Checking Out Scouts
Ensure that a map/directions to camp is posted on the Pack's
website
Proper Booster Seats: Each scout must be transported
in a properly installed booster seat if required by state
law
Contact the Daycamp coordinator and get a complete list of
the beltloops/pins the boys will be working on at camp and
submit that list to the Advancement chair.
Submit a tour permit: Pick up a tour permit application from
the council office and have it properly filled out at least 2
weeks before camp starts.
Create a time-schedule of the following and post on the
website, send out in an email and pass out at the Pack Meeting
just before the Daycamp:

Opening Day (6/1) - (Opening day requires all boys to be
there 30 minute early to get scouts registered and into their
proper dens)
- 7:20am Arrive at Smith's Parking Lot (Car Seat Swap,
etc.)
- 7:30am Depart for Camp
- 8:00am Arrive at Camp and register
- 8:30am Camp Starts
Subsequent Days (6/2 - 6/4)
- 7:35am Arrive at Smith's Parking Lot (Car Seat Swap,
etc.)
- 7:45am Depart for Camp
- 8:15am Arrive at Camp
- 8:30am Camp Starts
